Three UConn students published by CT Community News, Matt Corpuz, Maïna Durafour and Kaily Martinez, have won first place in the Business category at CT Society of Professional Journalists’ annual Excellence in Journalism awards.

CTSJC was honored to get a write-up in The Nutgraf, a weekly newsletter about student journalism, as part of its coverage of the journalism fellowship bill being considered by the legislature.

The Higher Education and Employment Advancement Committee took public testimony March 7th on a range of bills, including a measure that would “establish and fund not fewer than twelve fellowship positions in local newsrooms for recent graduates of journalism programs at public institutions of higher education.”

Students and faculty from SCSU, UConn and CT State Manchester attended this year’s College Media Association ProCon conference to represent the Connecticut Student Journalism Collaborative, hosting a panel discussion on how to ditch competition for collaboration.
